His Passion

As an athlete growing up in Maumee, Ohio, a suburb of Toledo, Ohio,, Mike Teifke was inspired by football greats Jim Brown and Lou Groza of the Cleveland Browns.  He saw many great players play on the field of the historic Cleveland Municipal Stadium and saw many Championships won.  His dream of playing for his team and on his field of dreams happened on October 11, 1987.  On this day his dream was made into a reality.

Having one’s dream become a reality is a hard act to follow.  To achieve one’s goals in life is not only unheard of in this day and age, but it is a hard thing to come by.  It takes dedication and perseverance in order to achieve any great feat.  So, is football the only thing that motivates Michael Teifke?  Can that be the only thing he is passionate about?  This aspiring writer wanted to know.

I had the opportunity to sit down with Mike Teifke and asked him some questions about his life since his Professional football career in 1987 for the Seattle Seahawks and the Cleveland Browns.  I was not one that had an athletic background, unless you count marching band, so it made me wonder about that side of the spectrum.  The athletic realm.

So, what makes Mike Teifke tick?  What is his motivation?  What is he truly passionate about???  Helping people.

“We are all here to help one another in some way.  Helping is the common thread that weaves through every person’s actual purposes and actions.  Helping people.  Making them better; improving their lives.  That is what it’s all about.  If our society would realize that it’s not a weakness to help others or to ask for help when needed, it is a strength, then imagine what we could create.  It is a gift to be able to give and receive help when needed and it is a gift that we as a society need to embrace.”  said Mike Teifke.

Makes you think.
